Sadly I have been advised of his death at his home on Friday 26th June 2020. Des had served in Malaysia & Singapore in 1969- 71 also in Vietnam with AATTV in all of 1972. No funeral arrangement have been made as yet.
Sadly, I have been advised that 53329 Brian Francis Granland passed away peacefully in Perth last night. Brian served as a Sergeant in Mortar Platoon, 1RAR during the first tour of Vietnam, he had also served in Malaya during the emergency. Brian was a strong supporter of the 1RAR Association in WA. May he now rest in peace.

Peter passed away peaceful today at 4.30pm at home. He had been ill for some time. As Peter would say himself he had a good innings and enjoy excellent health except for the last few years. He would have been 88 next month.
It was his wish that the funeral be private. But early next year I plan to have a celebration event of his life with family and friends.

Eddie Tesler Passed away 27th May 2020
Eddie served with Medical Pl 1RAR Vietnam 27 May 1965 to 11 June 1966.
Eddie passed away 55 years to the day, that he sailed to Vietnam on the HMAS Sydney, Eddie was 74 years old..

John passed away on 5th May 2020 aged 74+

Sadly I have to advise you that another of our 6 RAR family members, Donald (Don) Banks (A Company), has passed away. I was advised by Doc Laurent, who had been in contact with Don’s son Matthew. Don was part of A Coy, CHQ support section on the 69-70 tour of Vietnam. I have no other information at this stage, but will pass any along as it comes to hand.

I have been advised that 312917 Sapper John Ralph Stanborough passed away on 22nd March 2020. John served in Vietnam with 17 Construction Squadron 1969- 71.
LTCOL R.P. (Phil) Kudnig RAE (Retd) passed away in Victoria on 27 April 2020.
Phil was commissioned with the OCS Class December 1953 (The Third Class), he also being awarded the Governor General’s Medal.
He returned to OCS on the staff 1964 – 1966. He then moved over The Rip to Army Staff College in 1967.
In South Vietnam, he commanded 1 Fd Sqn RAE Jan – Nov 1971.
