We received the following information from Barry Francis on 10 Aug 22:

Hi. Very sadly I must advise that Merv James passed away at 7am today (10 August 2022), surrounded by his family. The confirmation came from his daughter Allison. Another much admired and loved member of our A Company 6 RAR family taken far too soon.

Please join with us in offering our deepest sympathy to those who will mourn the passing of a loved one.  Another 6 RAR family member, taken too soon.

Sadly, again, this is the 1st of 2 Vale emails this afternoon.
