17 Nov 1946 – 21 Oct 2022

It is with sadness that Malcom Grey Secretary 2 RAR Association advises that Norman Devereux passed away peacefully in his sleep overnight, Friday 21 October 2022.

Norm served in the 2 RAR’s first tour of Vietnam in 5 Pl B Coy in 1967–68 as a Section Commander. He continued to serve in the Army for over 20 years reaching the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2.

Norm joined the 2 RAR Associations Management Committee in 2010 as the Treasurer and in 2017 was made a Life member of the Association for his dedicated service. He remained as Treasurer until 2020.

Both Norm and his wife Margaret (recently decd) were active in the RAR’s National Memorial Walk’s Dads’ Army

Norm will be deeply missed by his family and mates.

Mark, Norm’s son, advises that “the funeral service will be held at The Great Northern Garden of Remembrance, 31 Tallowood Drive, Deception Bay on Monday 31 October commencing at 11am“.

“The funeral will include a traditional Poppy Service and we invite veterans to wear their medals. Black attire is not necessary, you may wear colours you are comfortable with.

Please share these details with those who you believe would like to attend.

Please also feel comfortable contacting me if you wish. I am a veteran myself, and I extend my sincere thanks to the veteran community who has supported Norm and our family, not only during these last few months but for many years.

With love from Norm’s son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Mark, Naama and Hanna”.
