I have been advised that Graham Dorrington passed away suddenly at home on 14 July 2024
The details for Graham’s funeral are as follows:
Relatives, friends and fellow veterans are respectfully invited to attend Graham’s funeral service to be held on Tuesday, 23rd July 2024 at 1pm in the chapel of the Coffs Harbour Crematorium, Coramba Road, Karangi.

Colin passed away on Friday the 12th July 2024 at 1000hrs in Brisbane. Rest in Peace Digger, you will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
There will not be a funeral. The family will be holding a celebration of life on the 2nd August at 1300hrs at the Wynnum RSL Club, 174 Tingal Road Wynnum Qld.
Please dress in bright colours as requested by Colin.

We have received advice of the death on 12 July 2024 of Edward George
(Spike) Chase. He was 79. Spike was a first intake National Serviceman who
served in Vietnam with the Detachment 131 Divisional Locating Battery from
May 1966 until December 1966. He was employed in Alpha Radar, LP’s and
Detachment HQ. A private service will be held for Spike and no ceremony is
planned.

We have received advice of the recent death of Peter George Stubbs. Peter
served in 11 Field Regiment and later, 5/11 Field Regiment in the Brisbane
area during the 1970s and 80s. He was a member of the RAA Association (Qld).
Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Peter’s life on Monday 15th
July, at Great Southern Memorial Park, 1174 Mount Cotton Road, Carbrook
commencing at 2:00pm.

It is with great sadness we advise of the recent passing of Gary ‘Sack’ Batty aged 79.
Gary served two tours on operations in SVN with 1 FD SQN from Mar 1969 to Jul 1960 and 1 ARMD REGT LAD from May 1970 to May 1971.
A funeral with be held at 0930hr on 16 July 2024 at Mt Cotton 1774-1794 Mount Cotton Road Carbrook QLD 4130.

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of John Essex-Clark DSM, affectionately known as the Big E, on the night of 12th July 2024. John served in the Rhodesian Army before joining the Australian Army in 1963. His distinguished service included tours in Central Africa, Malaysia, and Vietnam, where he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his leadership in action. John was the Officer Commanding Support Company 1RAR during the battalion’s first tour of Vietnam. He was an exceptional leader, highly regarded by both the commander of the 173rd Airborne Brigade and his soldiers. Although he had been unwell over the past few years, he received excellent care from Susan.

Garry was called up for NS in 1966 and because he was a Member of the Victoria Police, he was allocated to RACMP. Garry served in Vietnam from April 1967 to March 1968.
On discharge, Garry returned to Victoria Police, where he remained
until his retirement as a Chief Superintendent.

We have received advice of the death on 1 June 2024 of Patrick Harrington O’Hara.
He was 78. Patrick was a National Serviceman who served in Vietnam with108th Field Battery, of 4th Field Regiment from November 1967 until May 1968.
After Army service, Patrick became a high school teacher and later a TAFE Teacher in Canberra and at the Yirrakala aboriginal community in the Northern Territory.

We have received advice from 105 Bty Association of the death on 28 June 2024 of Alan Roy Johnston.
He was 74. Alan was an ARA Gunner and served with 105 Field battery in Vietnam on the 2nd Tour 1969-70 as an FO Sig in the D Company 5RAR FO Party, and later as a Bombardier in 1st Field Regiment. While in the D Coy 5RAR FO Party, Alan was wounded in a mine incident at Dat Do early in the tour in 1969, was medevac’d back to Australia, but later returned to 1st Field Regiment in November ’69 to finish the tour.
He was a Life Member of the 105 Battery Association. Alan and wife Deb had retired to live in Ballina NSW.
