Brian Collins, Secretary of the 101 Battery Association has advised that the funeral for Les Jobling will be held on Monday 19th June 2023 at 2.30pm.
The funeral will be held at Traditional Funerals, 636 Morayfield Road, Burpengary, Qld.

Apologies for the late notice on this one, especially as the funeral is today, unfortunately, I only received word yesterday and was away from my PC.

Sadly, we have received word that, Gregory (Flip) Murray PHILLIPS, RAEME, Admin Company 6 RAR 1969/70, passed away peacefully at his home on 29 May 2023.

Passed away peacefully at Coolamon/ Ganmain Multi  Purpose Service Hospital on Tuesday 6 June 23. Aged 78 years.

Graham served in C COY 6RAR Vietnam 1966 – 67.

A Service to celebrate the life of Graham Irvine will be held within the grounds of Coolamon Lawn Cemetary on Thursday 15 June 23 at 1030 hrs.

We have been advised that Ray Puddy 4RAR/NZ 1st Tour passed away at home in Rosebud Victoria on Monday 5th June 2023. His Funeral will be held at 10.30am, On 15th June at 123 Jetty Road, Rosebud Victoria. Followed by a gathering at the Rosebud RSL.

Vale 2788933 Glen Alexander Traill – RAA

We have received advice of the death on 4 June 2023 at Tin Can Bay of Glen Alexander Traill. He was 77. Glen was a National Serviceman with 105th Field Battery in Vietnam on their second tour 1969-70 initially as a Gunner Forward Observe (FO) Signaller with A Company 5RAR, then as a Command Post Signaller.

Glen was a Life Member of 105 Battery Association, attended many of the Association activities including Binh Ba Day commemorations; and he was a competent guitarist.

Vale 1411276 Leslie (Les) John Jobling -RAA

We have received advice of the death on 8 June 2023 of Leslie (Les) John Jobling. He was 78. Born in Maleny, Queensland, Les served with 101st Field Battery in Vietnam from September 1966 until June 1967. Les was a Live Subscriber to the 101 Battery Association. He had been suffering from cancer for some time. Funeral details will be advised once confirmed.

VALE: 61309 MICHAEL (MICK) JOHN RUFFIN, OAM – 6 RAR & SAS

Sadly, we have received word that, Michael (Mick) John Ruffin, has passed away in Perth after a short battle with illness.  Mick was CSM Spt Coy in 1980 or 81, served with 2 Squadron SAS in Vietnam in 1968/69, went on to be RSM SAS and was awarded an OAM in 1985.

Vale 43609 LTCOL Peter John McAuley – 9RAR

More sad news, Peter McAuley, a member of 9 RAR from January 1968 until we returned from Vietnam.

Peter died in his home in Winchester, Virginia in the USA, yesterday.

Peter has been I’ll for some fighting a lung problem.

The funeral details will be advised as soon as possible, but due to time differences, there is no opportunity for streaming into Australia. His Funeral will be conducted in Peter’s home at 1100 hrs on Tuesday 13th of June.

Another good mate gone.

Peter served as a Pl Comd in D Coy and later as the Mortar Pl Comd. He will be sadly missed by many.

Sadly, we have received word that, Anthony (Tony) PRATT, passed away on 3 June 2023 after a battle with cancer.
